Leaving the Samosir Island we went through lush greenery and plantations of coffee and fruits we came up to a hill top of a place where Pisang Goreng (Banana fritters) and Teh Halia (Ginger tea) is their specialty. When we reached, there were a few locals enjoying their snacks there too.

This is another way way outdated post… it was Christmas, planning with Pam and YH to go down town for photography shooting. I am embarrassed to say the least. However, we dropped by at Shaw Parade for some food and light refreshments before proceed to the heart of KL for some serious photography.


We made our orders promptly as both YH and I had come to this little warm café. The decoration at Typic a café had changed a little from the last time we went. It has the rustic old Christmas feel to it. With little small handmade Christmas tree on each table and the over head hang some natural brown ornament which matches the interior of the café.

We were at Cyberjaya for our company’s new datacenter cage launching in CX2. As usual, we always end the day with a company dinner. This time my colleague suggested going to Padi House which was halal and has a few options to cater for everyone’s taste buds.

This is way way outdated post… I am embarrassed to mention the least. We were on our way to meet up with another friend of us when the sky turned gray and we were early to our ‘date’ therefore, my partner in crime suggested to make a short stop at Shaw Parade for a coffee session.

To me, the best place to be at when it is pouring is definitely in the cozy of a café. The smell of brewing coffee beans, titter tatter of the rain against the window, the slashing sound of the water from the vehicle and of course, the transformation of the grey clouds (without the thunder and lightning).

The little café is almost no place available we waited for a while for a couple to leave to have their table. While we were looking through the menu, the waitress so patiently explain to us and gave us suggestions based on our preference.

We were at Typica café when it is raining. Small and cozy with lots of window, we were greeted by their cheery staff and they are very patient in explaining to us the type of coffee and their recommendation according to our taste and needs.

Located inside of Carrefour Wangsa Maju is Jombali, a halal family restaurant which serves Malaysian food. They serve a wide variety of food besides Malaysian food of Malay, Chinese and Indians; there is also the Western and Nyonya cuisine. Cozy with its warm lighting and wood furnishing just like how Balinese would do. There are even cushions on the benches to make you more comfy.

We started off by ordering dishes from their new menu.

It was after the Jombali’s review and it was the weekend too, when we decided to check out the new mall – KL Festival City. At first I did thought it was a festival held at some place and after some discussion and searching, only that I knew it was actually a new mall nearby Setapak.

We ended up having our tea break at Ka Fei Dian when it started to pour heavily outside after which we wanted to leave. The half price tea break took out attention. But the banner did give my partner in crime a misunderstood though when she thought it was entirely half price instead of just the bread. The cozy bricked and old time design of wooden stools and table did bring back the warmth. The aromatic smell of the brewing coffee is inviting.

Onde Onde . . . it is a rather strange name for a restaurant. It reminds me of the soft chewy kuih filled with sweet gula Melaka when it was bitten into it – sort of like the Malay siao long bao. Packing up and leaving the office as punctual as we are hoping that we could to get to Desa ParkCity on time. Braving the traffic congestion from work, we were late for our appointment of which we took 40 minutes.

Before we enter the restaurant of for our dinner, we took a quick snap of the signage at the entrance.


The interior of the restaurant brought back the nostalgic feel of the Nyonya Restaurant. With its antique china on the wall, the stone table and the colourful decorated stool it does brought the feeling of being transported back to the past where you can enjoy a good nice cup of coffee with some friends while chatting after a good long day at work.

Only armed with my trusty mobile phone. Walking into the restaurant made me wonder should I get a small point and shoot to be carried around in my bag. It was unplanned that we stop by at a nice cafe like such to have a break from shopping before going home. L.Table shares the location with the bakery Lavender. Selling delicious bread and cakes, the back portion of the shop is the classy L.Table.

It will be a good way to catch up with your friends over the weekend to have a good time during the broad day light other than having a good cuppa at a nice place. According to a magazine, "Cafe Barbera started off as purveyor of gourmet Italian coffee and now have their own chain of cafes to prepare authentic Italian coffee."

Cafe Barbera was converted from one of the bungalow along Lorong Maarof. It has that warm and cozy feeling with the smell of roasted coffee bean when you enter the cafe. Just love the smell of coffee bean. They have a wide selection of Italian coffee to choose from. Other than expecting nice food, we the photo bugs of the small potato group are looking for nice presentation as well. =) We were so happy to see that the coffee does have coffee art . . . almost all . . .

Was browsing through some magazines when I came accross Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, KL in the Jusco Pearl Magazine, Issue 62. Then a few of us from the 'Small Potatoes' decided to go for a session since so many people was talking about it.

Firstly, apology as I had not jotted down the names and price of the food we had eaten. Hence, will describe it as accurately as possible to the food we had ordered.

Wendy and Foozie had ordered their mushroom soup. They had mentioned that it is a must to have that in Levain. Cream of Mushroom, creamy and with chunks of mushroom and dash of spice too.

Previously during our boss’s birthday when we had our dinner celebration at Sushi Zanmai, when the bill was supposedly to be divided by the number of us; but instead it was paid by our superior both JC and CH. We, the October Babies decided to give a dinner treat instead since it is always better to give than to take moreover during our birthday. OK, I am not going to be lengthy of the whole process.

 We arrived promptly after work. Light hassle of getting there from our office of the heavy traffic. We made our orders and camera clicking when the food arrived.

Since we were stuck in Mon't Kiara during a heavy downpour. It was cold, we wanted a place to stay warm while waiting for the rain to stop after we did some light shopping at Cold Storage. The smell of coffee drifted to us. We headed towards Dr. Cafe for a nice warm cuppa.

Set in a rainforest like environment with lush green bushes, man made waterfall, wooded settings and dining beneath the open sky; it does transfer you to a secluded setting among the greens from the busy street in the concrete jungle outdoor. Borneo Rainforest specializes in authentic Borneo cuisine; the food from the east of Malaysia - Sarawak.

Kalamazoo Café, located at Aman Suria. Just a few blocks away from my office, and with the deal of hahah came just right when we are looking for somewhere for food. My lovely colleague treated me and my partner-in-crime for dinner from the hahah deal which he bought - At a 51% discount, the dinner which cost RM52.80 are RM25.90

Caffeine morning fixes are required when you have a long day ahead and sleep is deprived. With free wi-fi and a cozy and comfortable setting at the cafe, its a good place gather with your friends.

Located at the heart of Bangsar Baru, Heritage Food is a newly open about 3 weeks ago on the 16th last month. Cozy and comfortable setting of the environment makes it a good place to gather with your family and friends while it caters a variety of heritage food to the crowds in and around the area.

Was in Starbucks for the mooncake review last week, coundn't help noticing the juices at the refrigerator when I ordered the cakes and the drinks.

Sharing its premise with HTC on top of Movida Bar & Lounger, a little hideaway I would say. Pride itself in using the premium coffee beans - Graffeo coffee beans, all the way from the US. It is definitely a good place for the caffeine-lovers to get their caffeine fix with a nice touch of art.

Was waiting for my mum at her office one day and I saw a nice bottle by her table. It was the Starbucks bottle and there it was... Citrus Crush as the label.

Astonished I asked my mum, and she said it was her colleague which left it there. It was only then that I knew that Starbucks Coffee sells juices in bottle! Call me kampung, but its true.
