Jombali, Wangsa Maju
Thursday, December 08, 2011
Located inside of Carrefour Wangsa Maju is Jombali, a halal family restaurant which serves Malaysian food. They serve a wide variety of food besides Malaysian food of Malay, Chinese and Indians; there is also the Western and Nyonya cuisine. Cozy with its warm lighting and wood furnishing just like how Balinese would do. There are even cushions on the benches to make you more comfy.
We started off by ordering dishes from their new menu.
Nasi Goreng Tiga Rasa with King Prawn - RM14.90
One of the famous dishes in the restaurant, the fried rice is very aromatic and flavorful. It was slightly on the wet side compare to the normal fried rice which is drier. Distinctively you can taste three tastes when you taste the rice, there is spicy, piquant and peppery. The fried rice is served with some crackers and a two large prawns.
Char Kuey Teow Special - RM12.90
The Char Kuey Teow on the other hand is much drier compare to the fried rice. Aromatic and quite pungent for me thought we had requested for kurang pedas, the char kuey teow is fried with lots of other condiments; fish cake, eggs and julienned carrots and finally garnished with two large sautéed prawns and lots of crab meat. Very delicious!
Braised Sang Mee with King Prawn - RM14.90
Braised Sang Mee, this I out of the best which we had ordered. Not spicy and just right for us who doesn’t crave for spicy food. The noodles are fried before it was put into the flavorful gravy of chicken meat slices, fish cakes and vegetables as well as two large king prawns. To top it up, the prawns are really sweet from its freshness and are flavorsome from soaking up the gravy.
Cheese Fish & Chips - RM13.90
Fish & Chip is the only dish from the western cuisine we ordered. The batter fish is deep fried and served with fries, coleslaw and a bowl of cheesy sauce. The sauce is not as thick and sticky as cheese would usually be but instead it’s diluted to a creamy sauce texture.
As for drink, we had the local favourites of longan cincau, 3 layer coffee, ribena lychee and ribena longan.
Ribena Longan - RM4.90
Ribena Lychee - RM5.90
Longan Cincau - RM3.90
3 Layer Coffee - RM4.90
