It was before we can check-in into our room, we drop off our luggage and headed out for lunch nearby the hotel at Kimberly Road.

We were so happy to see one of food to eat! Egg waffle.

Jiann Chyi is one of well known restaurant in Sekinchan. It is located at the Bagan area, just within the fishing village.

It was during the Raya Holidays. When dad suggested that we go about looking for food at Bentong. It is rarely that dad is adventurous in looking for food these days after.


We went to this shop after it was suggested by the local goods lady from the main road.

It was during the Mother’s Day that we headed off to Old Man Restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was nearly packed; thank goodness that my sister made a reservation. It was not the best space which we got, but it was better than none.

Coconut & Chicken Soup


The chicken and coconut soup is refreshing. Meat and husk together in the pot of soup. We wanted to order another type of soup but as the restaurant is being full, there wasn’t much choice for us to choose from.

In the nick of time before the Lights Off Ceremony - just thirty minutes before the ceremony. We quickly walk around for some quick shots before we have to wait for another year. (Do bear with the repetitive pictures and the 'not so clear' image).

Chinese New Year just came to an end. We headed to Kota Kemuning for dinner before we adjourn to our destination - FGS Dong Zhen Temple. I was rather surprise that the town is so much developed now. We made a rounding around before we stop at the Ocean Point restaurant which seems to have more diners compare to others – we do believe that when we do not know which restaurant to patron when we are in a new place, best to go with the crowd.

Its the Chinese New Year!! We went back to Ipoh on the second day of Chinese New Year for visiting and day trip. As usual, Tanjung Tualang will be our place for lunch when we goes back to Ipoh. The restaurant which we patron last year was full and only for reservation. Left with no choice, we went to our second option. The restaurant in which our aunt had brought us there many years back.


We were very hungry as we left KL very early that morning with only light breakfast. The place was packed and we very lucky indeed when we were given a private room for our lunch as there was seven of us.

We had been to this place a few times and finally I remember to take my camera with me when I went for dinner this time around. It was located in Buntong, a not so small shelter of a shop lot in Buntong, opposite a school which I forgotten the name.

According to my aunt, the chicken are apparently more ‘chicken’ taste to it rather than the bland taste you have when you have steam chicken and it goes nicely with the chili sauce and the mince ginger. You can either have rice or the Ipoh famous hor fun which is smooth and semi-translucent flat noodle. We of course ordered the white chicken and a few other dishes to go with our meal.

We were on our way to Ipoh for visitation during the long weekend. I think end of November or beginning of December with my parents and aunt – our eating spree. I know this had been an outdated post, therefore my sincere apology.

Kampar is a small old town on the way to Ipoh. My dad used to study around the town in his younger day. It had been in the recent years that my dad had wanted to have lunch at Kam Ling whenever we had the chance to go Ipoh, be it for visitation or for occasion. Kam Ling is the largest restaurant in that small town, by the main road. You wouldn’t miss it. One of the pioneer businesses in the town, it had been the envy of small boy to dine in many years back. Yes, I am talking about my dad!

Dad eagerly told us that we are going to taste some shark meat over the long weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I am not avid fan of shark fin myself. But in this matter of shark eating, why waste the fish when it is dead? We drove all the way to Kapar, a small town in Klang.

Authentic Sichuan Cantonese flavours at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant

Led by two experience Chefs – Wong Yunghai from Sichuan and Chinese Chef Chew Chee Kuong; the restaurant boasts an extensive a a-la carte menu featuring Sichuan specialities while complemented by a selection of Cantonese favourites. The restaurant had won many awards which they are being awarded as one of Malaysia’s Best Restaurant as well as Award of Excellence for Best Value Meal at the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2008 (MIGF).


Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant is a renowned authentic Sichuan serving both traditional Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine (pork-free). Malaysia’s first Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant is the third branch of the Si Chuan Dou Hua chain of restaurant at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur since July 2003. Located at the Lower Lobby of the hotel, Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant features a dramatic entrance flanked by discreetly illuminated glass etchings and zen-like surrounding with chinese instrumental music in the background. The restaurant is capable of taking 145 diners at any one time in its comfortable contemporary and elegant settings.

I missed Taiwan though I did not visit much places nor eat much on the local food while I was there... good that there is restaurant like such available in Malaysia. Was shopping with my buddies and we decided to go Little Taiwan for our lunch.


Food are similar to those available in Taiwan. Probably the preparation and ingredients are a little different to cater to the local palate.


Pan Fried Dumpling - RM8.90 (6 pieces)

In conjunction of celebration of birthdays for the October babies on the 8th October. My sister recommended this restaurant which she had tried. She had been boasting about the claypot soup and the superior fried rice the day before made our reservation. It had been sometime that we went to Kajang for meals. It was rather a funny name when she mentioned it to me.

It was proudly advertised in their menu and their brochure that their specialty was featured in the Ho Chak! local TV program.

Restaurant Luk Yu - Formerly known as Axian Dim Sum

Time to energize after a session of photo shooting at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, Putrajaya. Time to fill up the growling tummy!

We were on our way back using the puchong route when YH wanted to have dim sum for breakfast. It came to mind that there is one shop named Ah Xian Dim Sum in Puchong, Jerry and Pamela started searching on their phone for the route to that shop. Yes we did pass by the shop many times while looking for it high and low, in desperate measures to feed the growling tummy which is getting extensively loud as seconds passes by. We ended up going to Luk Yu Restaurant.

Once we have gotten out the car only did we see the small banner on the side of restaurant that it was Ah Xian Dim Sum! There were display of the dim sum on the wall. There was a huge mural on the cashier wall that highlighted that the shop uses : Sakura Pork, Organic Vegetables and Green Cutlery.

Time for another celebration, dad's birthday! We had the cake for him on the day of his birthday and our dinner celebration on that weekend.

Lunch with my colleagues and fellow blogger at The Gardens. We were there to visit the then KLPE. Lunch time came and its time to fill the tummy!


Xiao Long Bao - RM9.80
How can we resist from ordering one of their famous dishes? Juicy and sweet filling from the meat. Goes well with shredded ginger and black vinegar.

Friday night, being a night out for dinner at different location with a few friends and colleague(s). Running out of idea where and what to eat, YH decided to go for something 'cheaper' compared to our usual dinner at cafes and fancy restaurant.  We went to a small restaurant in state, Sam U Claypot Restaurant. Small restaurant, few doors away from UOB Bank. They serve most of their dishes in claypot. Petite and small.
