It was during the Mother’s Day that we headed off to Old Man Restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was nearly packed; thank goodness that my sister made a reservation. It was not the best space which we got, but it was better than none.

Coconut & Chicken Soup


The chicken and coconut soup is refreshing. Meat and husk together in the pot of soup. We wanted to order another type of soup but as the restaurant is being full, there wasn’t much choice for us to choose from.


Fried Oyster Mushrooms


We had this the previous time when we had our dinner at the Old Man. Coated with salted egg and deep fried. One of the tid-bits which you could not stop eating. Best to go with a glass of cold beer . . . (I suppose).


Superior Fried Rice with Tobikko


We too had this fried rice. The rice and the tobikko goes well. As we could not afford for carviar, this is what we can for the time being.


Fried Lotus Root with Celery


Nothing much to shout about for this dish. A variety of vegetables cut into bite size and stir-fry.


Steam Garoupa Fish with Soya Sauce


When the fish came, it was pretty funny as there was a red date stuffed in the mouth of the fish. The fish is OK.


Thai Style Salad Chicken


Deep fried and topped with Thai style salad of Thai chili sauce and julienne of raw mangoes and cucumber.
