Medan, Part 3 - Niagara Hotel and Resort

Niagara Hotel and Resort is situated high on a hill overlooking the Lake Toba at Parapat. It does indeed the most beautiful scenery of Lake Toba as they claimed in their website. We could not get a better looking picture of the accomodation
Our room was the resort kind of accommodation. Our room is located on the upper floor of a Minangkabau like house of a stretch of 5 houses, overlooking a tennis court. The room is clean and very Japanese style like with all the basic necessities provided.
Dinner was at the hotel restaurant. It is a simple sit down dinner. Couldn't take much pictures of the food we ate as we're all starving. Well, you may see that I would say we are hungry at almost every meal; not that we were not given any food but long distance from one place to another and the meal time was rather delayed. Anyway, I managed to capture a few snaps before I started to dig into the food.
Our meal consist of clear vegetables soup, various simple dishes such as eggs, vegetables, fish, and chicken for dinner.

Parapat stretches over a small rocky peninsular on Danau Toba or also known as Lake Toba. Expanded towards the sough against Ajibata village, it is already a popular tourist destination even before the war time. In the recent years, new hotels were built rapidly.The chilly temperature of the hotel does indeed remind me of Cameron Highlands back home. Except that at Niagara Hotel it is quite a distance from the town and through steep winding roads to the nearest housing area. But at the hotel, it is quite happening that day as there was a conference and the hotel is fully booked. And there are facilities of pool, Jacuzzi, lounge, and convenient store available there.
