Chef Lim Organic Kitchen, Scott Garden

Chinese New Year is coming to an end. Since we had stuffed our face with so many foods over the period of CNY, we wanted to go for something healthy. We then decided to try out this restaurant in Scott Garden as it uses organic ingredients in their dishes; which was suggested by one of my childhood friends. Moreover, our nanny is very specific with food she put into her system. The plan sounded good to me especially not having to drive too far in the scorching sun!
Both my sister and I were the first to arrive. It was clean and white in the restaurant with lots of lights and mirrors. The waitress there isn’t very helpful though when we asked about our reservation table which is under my friend’s name. We were standing there to be seated when they were asking from one waitress to another and staring blankly at us too as they had a hard time understanding our mandarin with English accent . . . LOL.
Anyway, we made our order and the food arrived promptly.
Crystal Jade Roll - RM17.90+ (S), RM22.90+ (B)
This dish did looks like sushi from the menu though. It is a very interesting dish indeed. It kind of like some sort of fish paste like wrapped in a seaweed sheet and deep fried. It is then served with chili sauce. It can also be eaten as snacks too.
Yam Ring Basket - RM22.90
This dish is one of the typical Chinese restaurant foods. I like the yam basket. It wasn’t deep fried too much as some does. The yam basket was made without too much of starch or flour, still able to taste the yam which is nice. With carrots, baby corn, snow pea and cashew nuts.
Basil Leaf Mushroom - RM16.90 (S), RM21.90+ (B)
New found dish that I like. I like mushrooms. I do like this fusion dish stir-fry with the usage of herbs. As mushroom tends to be tasteless and a slight hint of woody taste, it absorbs the fragrant smell and taste of the basil leaf. The basil leaves used are fresh and not those dried type, the smell is more pungent then.
Hakka Clay Pot Bean Curd - RM16.90+ (S) , RM21.90+ (B)
I don’t quite like this dish personally and I feel a little embarrassed ordering this as it was quite salty and the gravy was starchy. I thought it would be a healthy dish for nanny and all of us but on the reverse it is left almost half uneaten. Probably the vegetables in the pot were mostly eaten up instead.
